PostHeaderIcon Anniversary Poem - Humorous

Mickey gave this to Sally for their first anniversary and says “she loved it, laughed and ate more celebration cake.”

When Mickey met Sally

When Mickey met Sally

She drove him doo lally

He told her her hair was enough to scare....

then she glared with her eye

that now makes him sigh

in utter submission

cos she made him her mission

He says that she drove him wild to distraction

every move that she made promised him action

When she tottered past swaying and tripped and fell

he rushed to save her from her embarrassing hell

Her knickers were hooked on the leg of a chair

and people were gathering and beginning to stare

at her bum that shone out brightly like a beautiful moon

Mickey realised he had begun to swoon

Pinging her knicker leg he set her free

and realised they were meant to be

Two months later he asked his Sally to marry

She replied “only if.. me over the threshold you’ll carry”

He looked at her; he loved her, all of her 16 stone

And looked at his arms which were not much more than bone

He knew his biceps were quite weak

And decided they needed giving a tweak

Mickey joined a gym

And learnt to swim

Working hard towards their special day

and poor Sally her diet became no better than hay

But when they stood side by side in wedded bliss

And where just about to share that special kiss

He looked at her gorgeous in her white dress

and realised of Sally there was much less

and he had grown bigger and stronger than her

He could carry her easily into their lair

“Upwards and upwards that heavenly stair”

Now the first anniversary has arrived

and being together they have not lied

Sally likes eating lots of food

and Mickey for the gym is never in the mood

Together they are happy being themselves

Loving each other like a couple of elves

Because when they were sprinkled with fairy love dust

there was no escaping they both knew they must

Be together, whatever, whenever they could

Their hearts engraved like carving in wood

“Mickey and Sally

Forever Together”
